Harvest Festival Donations Gratefully Received
The Harvest Festival Service went very well. Thanks to everyone for their donations
which were gratefully received by St George’s Crypt. Mr Gary Stott from
the crypt was able to attend the service and gave his thanks at the end. He
quoted from the Year 2 and 3 recitation of the parable of the sower, and drew
the analogy of the seeds being scattered into places where it was difficult
for them to grow. He said it was like God’s love, which was scattered
into all places even though it might not seemingly have an effect. He said this
was like the work of St Georges, where they tried to scatter God’s love
into difficult places in Leeds.
Half Term
We have a well earned rest over the coming week to recharge batteries. I hope
everyone has a great week. Staff will be still working on Friday, preparing
for the forthcoming ISI inspection in March on their training day.
Good luck England in the Rugby World Cup Final!
After Half Term
When we come back we have a home netball fixture against Wakefield Tutorial
College on the Wednesday (2pm) where I will field the Under 10 team. There will
be no team list sent out as all the pupils will be in school and we will finish
by the end of school. Please remember to return tops (into my hands) for the
match though.
We are hosting a workshop for the Ballet Rambert on Thursday at 12.30pm which
involves the Year 5 and 6 pupils together with the Year 5 and 6 pupils from
Moorlands School. Can any pupils who have not yet paid their £5 please
do so on the first day back.
A Winning Start
We won our chess fixture at Churwell – just. It was a close contest which
we shaded 7-5. The two players I mentioned last week gave the best performances
– both Lois and Anamay winning both their games, showing the value of
competing outside school at a higher level. We will need to improve –
Churwell did not field their best player (an England international)
Year 5 and 6 have been hugely enthused by their studies of Ancient Egypt this
half term and have worked hard on their projects.

Don’t forget children, lots of ‘warm fuzzies’ this holiday.
