An Open Day
On Wednesday we are having an open morning. This is an opportunity for new parents to visit the school. A lot of work is going on to involve nurseries and keep them informed of the school’s events. Lessons will run pretty much as normal but we have planned some sessions to show the major strengths of the school, such as drama and art.

This week’s sport
The team qualified for the city finals on Tuesday night attending the zonal tournament at Oakwood Primary. All the other schools must have heard about our reputation as they failed to turn up, so we were left to battle it out with the host school’s two teams. In the end it was no contest as we won 12-0 and 13-0.
First rounders match of the term was at Moorlands where I am pleased to say we received a slightly more friendly reception. We won this 26-51⁄2.

Elections for the new chair have been postponed until Wednesday 14th May at 7.30 at the Alcuin School.
It would be nice to see as many parents as possible at the next meeting to vote in the new chair.
I just want to take this opportunity to thank all the parents, staff and friends of the Alcuin for all their support over the past 18 months.
We have worked hard as a team to raise money to benefit the children, i.e the playground. I do believe that the completion of the playground will show how much hard work and love has gone into making this all happen.
Finally I wish the new chair all the best for the future and hope she receives as much support as I have over the last 18 months.
