Well done runners
A big thank you to everyone who turned up for cross country last Saturday – it was great to see so many parents and a good strong boys’ team. Everyone ran exceptionally well at Whitkirk, with Tyrell Walwyn finishing 21st out of a field of 138 boys. The next race is scheduled for a week tomorrow but as I understand it no venue has yet been found. I have picked a team anyway so please be on standby. The following three races all have venues and will happen.

Slide Show
On Monday morning in assembly time we will be presenting a slide show of the Lakes Trip and parents are most welcome to attend this. The time is 8.45am.

Also Next Week
On Wednesday the boys are playing in a football tournament at Richmond House (1.30pm) and on Friday the girls play in the annual Netball Festival at Gateways (1.30pm). Support would be hugely welcome at both events. Year 2 and 3 are visiting Drax Power Station on Monday and will be out of school.

Uniform
Ordering winter uniform.
If you require any items for winter uniform (to be worn after half term) please make sure you have returned the form received in your child’s homework bag this week to Ms Simms by Monday 1st October.
On a general uniform note, please ensure your child has and wears the complete uniform, including hats or caps and coats. If you are unsure of what the uniform requirements are these are now available from the school office.
The School’s Uniform shop is open every Monday afternoon, 3.30 – 4.30 throughout term time or appointments can be made with Ms Simms through the School office. Please be aware that Ms Simms is a parent who has taken on this role voluntarily, she does not work at the school. Please make every effort to arrange uniform appointments during the times indicated on Monday afternoons.
From now on, ordering new uniform takes place in the first week of the spring term (January) for summer uniform and the first week after spring half term (June) for the winter uniform. Please be aware ordering of new items that are not in the uniform shop takes at least 8 weeks. As a small school we try to balance keeping a minimum of stock available and covering the requirements of the children. We ask for your patience at times when a particular size is out of stock.
Payment of uniform.
Payment is required on receipt of goods, so please make sure you bring your cheque book to the appointment.

The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe

Congratulations
We have got over the hurdle of the first two weeks back at school. The new routine of the school run, homework, timetables and fixture lists seem like a shock to the system, particularly after the summer break. You’re not alone. We all experience something of this to a greater or lesser degree.
So let’s all be gentle with ourselves and appreciate the good things that we meet.
Blessings.
Judith Watkins
