Easter Service
Our Easter service is a slightly extended event this year and takes the form
of a concert and service. It starts at 9am on Friday and everyone is welcome.
On the Radio
Radio Aire came on Wednesday and recorded Years 4, 5 and 6 singing. We are not
quite sure when it will be broadcast but we will let you know.More Success
Last Saturday the Under 11 netball team travelled to Fulneck School in Pudsey
for a tournament with the hosts and two teams from Froebelian. After defeating
the hosts 27-0 (in a 20 minute game!) they had a tough game against the Froebelian
A team. Enduring some amazing umpiring decisions the girls kept their minds
on the job to pull back from 7-4 down to draw 7-7. After defeating the Froebelian
B team 21-1 they were declared the winners on goal difference. Thanks to all
the parents who supported.
On Wednesday we defeated Adel Primary School 11-1 in the Primary Chess League.
Next Week
On Monday it is the Leeds Schools Netball Association Tournament. For the first
time ever we are going into the competition as a strong contender for the title.
If this was achieved it would be an amazing ‘double’ to add to the
league championship – the sort of equivalent to the Premiership Title
and the FA Cup double. The venue is Leeds Girls High School and the first game
is 1.30pm.
Support is needed and welcome – please keep support up to the high standards
we expect of the girls and under no circumstances must comments be directed
at opposing umpires regardless of the provocation.
On Tuesday we have an Under 10 netball match (7 a side) at Moorlands (4pm).
UK Chess Challenge Finishes
After 7 rounds the UK Chess Challenge has finally come to an end in school.

The Miracle of New Life
Reception and Year 1 are incubating eggs in our classroom. The gestation period
is 21 days of which there are 11 remaining. The anticipated hatching of the
chicks will be during the week beginning Monday 10th March. From past experience
the whole school becomes involved in observing this ‘miracle’ of
new life emerging. I’m sure the children will keep you updated but please
feel free to pop in and see us.
