Physical
The physical health and fitness of pupils is of great importance.
We provide at least four sessions of physical education each week
besides extra-curricular activities. Pupils are carefully taught
to compete with courage and commitment. They learn to win with humility
and lose with dignity.
Good nutrition is essential. Lunches are vegetarian and are prepared
on the premises using wholesome, fresh food.
Mental
Pupils are encouraged to achieve at high levels and to excel in
their work. Through a wide ranging curriculum children are taught
the fundamental principles of each subject.
Emotional
The pupil's emotional well-being depends on them feeling happy and
at ease in school. Each child's needs are considered by the teacher
and provided for through trust, love and respect. Pupils are encouraged
to show consideration for others in their behaviour. To strengthen
this we ensure that a strong relationship between parents and teachers
is developed.
Spiritual
Pupils are introduced to the words, stories and examples of great
spiritual teachers throughout history and encouraged to practice
this wisdom in their daily lives. This is made possible through
a daily assembly and the weekly philosophy lesson involves discussion
of great spiritual ideas. The children are asked to try these out
and report their experiences. Older pupils are offered the opportunity
to meditate, which engenders a source of inner strength.
The discipline in the school is maintained by encouraging pupils
to aspire to the values introduced in the philosophy.
Sanskrit: Sanskrit is the finest classical language and is the root
of all Indo-European languages. It has a strong spiritual connection
and the course has been developed to be fun, challenging and interesting
for children. Learning Sanskrit gives the children a basic understanding
of how language works. It aids articulation, memory and clarity of
thought. |
